Obama gun ban agenda still stokes fears

A San Francisco Chronicle report about a gun show in Daly City notes that when the doors were opened, people came running in and immediately started panic buying ammo, again emphasizing fears about shortages and the Obama gun ban agenda.

Everybodys panic buying, said a wholesale ammunition dealer, who also requested anonymity. When the doors opened (on Saturday), people were running in, according to the report.

Gun dealers across the country are reporting a virtual run on ammo as prices soar.

Semiautomatic firearms are going fast, according to a dealer quoted in the report. People are afraid the Obama administration will ban assault weapons.

Gun owners are also concerned that Obama, despite claiming before the election that he wouldnt target the second amendment, recently bemoaned the fact that he didnt have the political power to ban semi-automatic weapons, falsely blaming U.S. gun shops for the violence in Mexico.

Obama is also pushing a treaty that would ban illicit manufacture of firearms and reloading.

According to Gun Owners of America,Illicit manufacturing includes reloading and modifying or assembling a firearm in any way. This would mean that the Obama administration could promulgate regulations banning reloading on the basis of this treaty just as it is currently circumventing Congress to write legislation taxing greenhouse gases.

Despite Obama promising that he was not interested in going after the second amendment before his election, one of his first actions was to appoint the rabidly anti-gun Eric Holder as his Attorney General.

The leaked Obama gun ban list would make millions of Americans criminals for owning weapons such certain types of rifles or pistols. Anti-gun legislation has found its way into stimulus and other unrelated bills as pork barrel. The first steps of the Obama administration with regard to gun control have resulted in record firearm and ammunition purchases across the country.

Well, DUH - because there's none on the shelves at local stores and average JOE doesn't shop online !

I did well at this past show selling 7.62x39mm for $8 per box of 20.

The people woke up to the reality that their political leaders lie through their teeth. They best be armed to the teeth to protect them selves from the corrupt lieing PTB.

This is the untold story. I think the informed population is preparing for civil war to break out in the near future.

As of late, gun shows seem like an ice cream truck at a fat camp.

While I am saddened because I cannot find any ammo locally, I am gladdened by the fact that it is due to my countrymen buying it up as soon as it hits the shelves.

I hope they are buying it for the right reasons....

I went to a show last weekend...some SOB was selling 100 round WWB 9mm for $40 a box! That's twice what you'd pay at Wal-Mart.

Probably bought it at Walmart in order to scalp it at gunshows...

A friend in another city is saying that whole pallets are being bought off the truck as soon as they arrive at local Walmarts.

And most gunshops have purchase-limits for ammo customers...

Thats nothing. I was at a gun show where a father was letting his Pippi Longstockingesque daughter shoulder a Barrett complete with low light optics. Yes she had her finger on the trigger. What's worse was that there was a gaggle of about 4 children directly in front of the muzzle.

The dealer didn't seem to mind one bit.

Either ignorant of Rule #2 or embodiment of a subconscious realization of Rule #2. Rule #1 is, of course, every gun handed to you is loaded.

I'm buying everything I can to keep it out of the hands of these wacko survivalist, Bambi-killing, gun-nut extremists who think they have a right to carry a loaded gun around any time they please. Yessiree, every round I can.

Anything to help, Mr. Holder. Glad to do it....

I agree!

When I want to handle any gun at a show, I ask permission first, and I always assume it is loaded.

Some of the other patrons make me nervous as all get-out.

I left my local gun show after 20 minutes. It was basically overrun with people. You could not walk, and constantly had to try to work your way through the crowd. Never seen anything like it.

I've enjoyed gunshows for better than two decades, but the crowds are getting to me now. Also, as someone else mentioned, some of the patrons make me nervous. I believe scalping ammo will become commonplace at many shows.
Take care,
Mod1
